Marcus Ervin Riddle (December 8, 1854 to September 28, 1902) and Bunevista Jane “Vestie” Wilson Riddle (October 13, 1856 to December 21, 1901) married August 2, 1874. Vestie was one of Big Tom Wilson’s daughters. They had a big two story house built in 1894, in Pensacola.
They had four children,
Erastus, July 9, 1875 to September 24, 1946,
Welzie, May 20, 1881 to August 10, 1965,
Pearson Sr, April 5, 1897 to April 15, 1987,
and one sister, Mattie.
Pearson Riddle Sr. married Gladys Hamby and had 5 children:
Irene Elizabeth Riddle Hyatt, April 21, 1919 to March 6, 2010. She married Fred Hyatt.
E.R. Riddle, October 15, 1921 to June 9, 1996. E.R. and Pearson are twins.
Pearson Riddle Jr., October 15, 1921 to September 18, 2023. He is buried in the Riddle family cemetery on the hill behind the two-story family house.
Charles Ruth Riddle, January 14, 1928 to July 2, 1950. He died in a drowning accident in Hawaii. His funeral was held in July in front of his grandparents’ (Mark & Vestie’s) house. Charles served in the Navy and is buried in the Riddle family cemetery.
