Lock Hamby, AB’s eighth, was known as Blatch. Lock had friends in the sheriff’s office. The sheriff had confiscated a still and Lock’s friends “loaned” it to him overnight. He brought it over to Zach’s house where they made up a batch of white lightning in Annie’s kitchen. The still was returned the next day, none the worse for wear.

Lock Craig Hamby was born March 23, 1886, and died October 10, 1958. He married Mary Ina Smith.
